CONNECTING TO YOUR CORE

In this workshop we will take a deep dive into the muscle recruitment patterning of the Powerhouse and how the Powerhouse is the fundamental starting point to all the Pilates exercises and the entire method.  This will help members get a safer and more effective workout in whichever class they decide to participate in.

Our body always works better when we stretch.  Essential Stretches for everyday life is a workshop that explores stretches that we should do every day for a happy and healthy body.  To aid in the prevention and recovery from aches and pain in our back, hips and shoulders, these simple stretches can be done on the go, in the office or when at home.

JOE’S ORIGINAL WORKOUT

In today’s Pilates environment there are a many styles and variations of Pilates all of which cater to various groups and clients.  Let 3rd Generation teachers, Marena & Chris take you through Joseph Pilates’ original 34 exercise workout.  This was Joseph’s original vision for an overall full body workout.  This class will be challenging and fun with plenty of options for different levels.

REFORMER JUMPBOARD WORKOUT

Elevate your Pilates practice with our jumpboard workshop! This dynamic session combines traditional Pilates with cardio moves and how to execute them in a purposeful way through understanding correct jumpboard technique. Experience a low-impact, high-intensity workout that targets muscles and boosts cardiovascular fitness. Suitable for all levels, this workshop focuses on proper form and alignment, ensuring a challenging yet accessible session.

PRE/POST NATAL REFORMER

This workshop is designed to introduce you to how you can use Pilates as a great form of exercise during your client’s pregnancy and post-partum journey.  You will be provided with several ideas and exercises specific to each trimester, as well as the post-partum period to keep your pregnant client healthy and safe as they navigate the individual challenges they will face during this time.

THE TWO-WAY STRETCH (keeping your spine healthy)

Many people have issues with their back, they are often scared to move their spine in different ranges of motion in case they become injured.  Sadly, if we don’t use it, we lose it. Jay Grimes, a student of Joseph Pilates, says that “Pilates is strength with a two-way stretch”.  It can be described as a dynamic reach away from a strong centre, but when you feel it in your body, it feels like so much more.

This workshop will teach members how to move their spine in flexion, extension, side bending and rotation, allowing them to gain more strength, mobility and function for their entire ‘core’. It will also aid the health of spinal discs, bones and tissues.  Using the two-way stretch will help members engage their ‘core’ in a more purposeful way, maximizing the benefits of their workout. This is essential knowledge for anyone working out, whether they are doing Pilates, lifting weights or going for a walk.

REFORM YOUR MAT

The reformer is a powerful Pilates apparatus.  Many aspects of the reformer can be transferred to the mat.  In this workshop / class we will take you through many of the Pilates reformer exercises that can be performed on the mat.  Many of the reformer moves can be integrated into a mat class without props.  However, the use of a few simple props can be added into the workout to replicate the springs of the Reformer.

JOE’S MAGIC CIRCLE

Immerse yourself in our Pilates Magic Circle Workshop, this session is designed to deepen your Pilates practice using the versatile Magic Circle. This amazing apparatus can be used in both Mat and Reformer sessions.  Discover how this simple yet powerful tool enhances muscle engagement, core strength, and flexibility. Suitable for all levels, you will learn a series of targeted exercises that sculpt and tone, providing a unique and effective workout experience.
